Optimal Wellness Center - Facial

Sorry I have not been on for a while! I am on winter break and decided to treat myself to a facial. I got a deal at Optimal Wellness Center when I went to their Ladies Night. I could book any service for $49 (usually $75). My friends at Ladies Night raved about thier mini facials with Karen, so I decided to get one.

I have reviewed Optimal Wellness Center before. The facility is very nicely decorated, and the whole place is spa-like. Karen was really nice and did a great job. She used all natural products on me, including a raw organic honey facial. She also put some hot stones under may back and used hot stones to massage my face. She did quite a bit of massage on my arms, face, neck, and shoulders. At the end, she put mascara and lip gloss on me, which made me look more presentable when I went to Target afterwards.

I highly recommend the facial at Optimal Wellness Center. In fact I pre-paid for another one because that way I got $20 off.

Europa Day Spa - Essence Facial

Thursday and Friday of this week is my fall break, so I decided to go to my favorite place to get a facial, Europa Day Spa. I received a gift certificate to this place a few years ago and I have gone back one or two times a year since then. I am willing to pay full price there.

Europa Day Spa is a small spa in the Meridian Kessler neighborhood. There are three rooms separated by walls that don't go all the way to the ceiling, and white fabric is draped over the top. There is a big fountain right in the middle, so you can hear the sound of real running water, and wood floors. Sandra, the owner, is very nice and always remembers things about me, even when I haven't been there for a year. She always offers me water or tea from a little tea tray that she has set up.

I like Sandra's facials because they involve a lot of massaging, more than other facials I've gotten. She starts off with cleansing my face with a clarisonic brush, and then does extractions if I want them (which I always do). Then she massages in a few more lotions and potions, and ends with a face mask. While the face mask is on she gives me at least a 15-20 minute massage of my arms, shoulders, and head. The whole facial lasted about 1.5 hours today and cost $75 plus tip (regular price).

    Elle Nails - Pedicure

I went and got a pedicure immediately after school (work) today because I have been wanting to get one for the last few weeks and haven't had time. (Or, lets be honest, whenever I have had time, my legs weren't adequately shaved.) Today the two lined up like stars in a constellation, and I was able to get my pedicure.

I went to Elle Nails on 86th and Zionsville. It was a fairly standard walk-in nail place with comparable prices. It was simply decorated, but nice. It did not seem to be well ventilated because it was the strongest nail chemically smelling place I have been to. The place was fairly busy, but I got in right away. The pedicure chair massager was really strong and almost hurt my back. My pedicurist was thorough, and gave me a great leg massage, but did not massage my feet at all which was disappointing. I originally picked out a crackle nail polish that should have looked something like this (but on my toes):

But the pedicurist had never used it, and couldn't figure out how it worked. There was a top coat somewhere that we were lacking. So instead I just went with a plain red. When I went to the nail dryer area and sat down, I was momentarily excited when I realized that that chair had a massager also, but alas it was broken.
